Leading Forex Broker, Global GT, is pleased to have had the opportunity to provide essential assistance to a local school in Ghana, who could not afford to open its classroom doors to its children.
Global GT learned of the struggle of Gyeke Darko M/A School in Kyereban, East Ghana, from a colleague and aid worker, who regularly visits the country to provide assistance. Kyereban is a humble farming community, where residents live in mud huts without electricity and until recently, had no running water. Daily life is a challenge, and many basic supplies are considered a luxury.
After a solution was found for the pressing water supply issue, aid workers started a mission to tackle the lack of education in the village. Children who have never had any formal education could finally attend school to sit down to learn. Upon hearing about this initiative, Global GT felt compelled to contribute.
In the first phase of support, Global GT has donated 50 dual desks and chairs and school uniforms for all children, making them more comfortable to sit and learn. The new supplies brought a wave of excitement and hope to the school and lay an important foundation. Prior to this, children were sitting on planks of wood or on mud floors, which made it difficult to concentrate.
Global GT Head of Marketing, Anthea Michael, comments; “we are so incredibly excited that our contribution has made such a positive impact for the beautiful children of Gyeke Darko M/A School, and we plan to continue our support for key initiatives in Ghana. Children are the future, and we must ensure that they are equipped with the adequate tools to take on the world”.
Aid worker, Stefani Grigoriou, adds; “thanks to our and Global GT’s combined efforts, I can confidently say that there will be a significant improvement to people’s standard of living. This is not a one-time affair, in fact, it is a lifetime investment”.
